Our Featured March CMP is Nick Sternad, a 2021 graduate of MHTP in harmonica. He currently plays at least 6 hours per week at Mercy San Juan Hospital in Carmichael, California. The hospital's therapeutic music program was started 2 years ago by Nick and a fellow CMP. Previously, he worked at two other Dignity Health Hospitals in Sacramento and Woodland, CA. In addition, he has played for hundreds of hospice patients through a local hospice organization. MHTP is lucky to have Nick as a student advisor.

In Nick's words: "Becoming a CMP through the MHTP Program was a life-changing experience for me. I have been a musician for most of my life, having played on several church worship teams as well as for fundraisers, benefits, memorial services and other events; however, my greatest fulfillment has been realized in playing, one on one, for the sick and the dying. I can unequivocally state that this has blessed me more than anything else in my life."
